My paintings are mostly watercolored, and the dolls are handmade, one of a kind, mostly polymer clay; although, You see, I do like to sew. I make All my own patterns & costumes, although it's hard to get the faeries to put on any clothes. They don't listen. I do have a couple sewing machines, though I'm obsessed with hand sewing Everything. The dolls with stuffed bodies have very tough little bodies, inspired by the antiques. I figure they're still around... I use polymer clay, mostly Premo or Sculpey III. I don't use molds, and a toothpick is about my only tool. I do give the dolls wooden spines, and most of the bigger dolls have polymer skeleton parts. Keep the faeries away from cats. Treat them as you would china. Although, they are plastic, they are not as resilient as, say, rubber. I Really like experimenting... I want to make dolls that can live forever. I mostly make woolen wigs, but also use human and other hair. I try to list all ingredients in the Art Gallery. I use acrylic paints on the doll's faces, usually just with an overcoat over the paint, as I do not sand or finish the dolls. I buff them to a sheen with my fingers before baking, as I've found the finishes, except for wax, get tacky over time with humidity. If You keep the paintings out of the sun, (the sun's a killer), they should last hundreds of years. Keep them away from acid based paper witch' causes that yellowing too. All of my work is signed, Lee, as that's my middle name, and how my Grandma signed her work; it's a tradition.
Availability of work & price is designated in the Art Gallery, just click on the piece You'd like to see. I believe, off the top of my head, that the dolls range anywhere between $10 - $400, the paintings, $10 - $350... somewhere there abouts...
I am actually accepting commissions again. Talk to me. Price reflects time and love. I only sell commissions that Folks are happy with. I enjoy them, as they allow me to look at something from a different perspective. I can only accept check or money order for original pieces, but also lay-away. I am sorry, but I do not wish to have any responsibility with credit information these days. For customers outside the US, I accept International Money Orders. The Shoppe accepts credit cards. If You are interested in any of the unavailable pieces, let me know. I can probably make something up in The Shoppe for You. I really enjoy my Cafe Press shop, I get a lot of things from there. I change it around a lot, so get it while You can, or let me know You want it.
If there is anything available in particular that You'd like me to list on Ebay, let me know, as I can do that too. I rarely auction anything, but when I do, they are Always 20% off the price listed in the gallery & Free shipping. Now, too, if You'd rather me Etsy, let me know, as I do have an Etsy Shop, and we can do that too, if You'd rather pay for an original with credit. The price for shipping insurance is ridiculous as Everything these days, so I wrap them All Very Well & All is Good. They ship well & are living All Over now. I deal A Lot with The Post Office, so You know, Everything is shipped U.S. Mail. Some countries customs charge You extra just to pick up, I have no control over this, of course. I Really want You to Love what You got, so I will make certain You are happy. Satisfaction is Always Guaranteed.
A note on play: although the dolls are not originally intended for children, they are durable enough for careful play, as much as a china doll would be, only more-so. The faeries, for the most part, are all polymer sculptures; they don't like to play with kids and have been known to bite. If something should happen to Your doll, contact me. You can send it back to me and I will mend and return it to You for a fee of $15, just to cover postage and material.
Although this does not apply at this time, it will in the future, so I must add one other thing only if You plan on paying with a money order. Unfortunately my bank charges $5 just to deposit a money order, so for anything priced $5 that You want to use a money order for, I will have to add an extra $5 just for processing. Like I've said, this does not apply at this time, but I do have a Civil War inspired comic series that I'm working on, and those will be $5 each.
If You want to Gift something or have it wrapped, just tell me; I Love to do that.
I also have to add that my absolute favorite is trading with other artists, I've done commissions too this way.
Thank You. May the wind always be at Your back.*
